Warm Chocolate Cake

Yes! We can make a moist, warm chocolate cake in this Donabe. It takes less than 10 minutes!!!

★ The amount of ingredients and heating time are measured for 1 ~ 2 people.


★ cooking times may vary depending on your microwave's wattage, brand and size.


  1. Line the Donabe with parchment paper. 


  2. In a separate bowl, mix egg, sugar, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. 

  3. Add chocolate chips into the mixture (step 2) and stir.

  4. Pour milk into the mixture (step 3). 

  5. Mix flour and baking powder in another bowl

  6. Stir and sift the dry ingredients. ( step 5 )

  7. Pour the dry ingredients mixture over the chocolaty batter and whisk.

  8. Pour the batter into the parchment paper lined Donabe.

  9. Place the Donabe into the microwave and cook it for 90 sec (without the lid) 

  10. Remove from the microwave and let it sit for 2min. ( without the lid) 

  11. Dust confectioners' sugar and unsweetened cocoa powder as a garnish. 

    ***  1 scoop of vanilla ice cream on the top is highly recommended ***
