Simmered Meat and Tofu

Savory flavor of the beef soak into the tofu. It's a delightful side dish especially for rice.

★ The amount of ingredients and heating time are measured for 1 ~ 2 people.


★ cooking times may vary depending on your microwave's wattage, brand and size.


    1. Drain excess water from the tofu, and cut it into bite-sized pieces.
    2. Slice the leek diagonally into 1cm wide strips. 
    3. Cut the beef into bite-sized.  **1
    4. Put the tofu, leek, beef into the Donabe, and add rest of the ingredients. 
    5. Mix lightly and put the lid on.
    6. Heat it for about 4 min. ***2
    7. Let it sit for 2 min with the lid closed. 
    **1.... Thinly sliced beef is needed for this recipe. I used a package of shaved "Philly Steak Beef". Also many of Asian stores carry thinly sliced beef. ***2... If the meat is not thoroughly cooked, please add cooking time 30 sec ~ 1 min at a time.
